The Things that Live Inside You

The things that live inside you Demons live inside me as do they in you. The difference is, you see, One night, unconsciously, one revealed it self to me.  Over years one turned to many And I turned to face them.  I’ve looked my demons in the eyes about a hundred times. Oh, the things that live inside you! If you only knew! For until you do, you will continue to see out of the same eyes your demons do.

Does The Universe Exist?

When we are born the universe comes into being as we perceive it and when we die the universe too dies with us. If we only perceive time and there is nothing intrinsically real about time then the universe both exists and does not exist; therefore, questions as to how the universe was created are irrelevant or cannot be looked at linearly. Maybe a better question is to ask where the universe came from. Perhaps we can apply the uncertainty principle here: just as an electron is both here and there until it is observed the universe both exists and does not exists until we perceive it’s existence or non existence.

For When I Sleep I Do Not Rest

I exist but I’m not sure where, For when I sleep I dream of grandeur. I dream of all the beautiful things. Places I will never be, For they exist only in my mind. I exist but I’m not sure where- For when I wake I am tired, And what I have seen I cannot tell you. Stone waterfalls... Rich verdure. When I wake, Sometimes I think: I’ve been here before. Ah, no, for it was only in a dream! For when I sleep, I do not rest.

Fools Dance- my first poem since secondary school

I have not studied English Literature since GCSEs and it probably shows... Fools Dance I am a dancing fool And so are you I am me And you are too, But fools fight, They kill. And so I ask, From fool to fool, Why bother? Why do you choose foe over friend, When we are just A fool, Dancing. Dreaming. Deluding, That we are something different From the trees And the grass so green. They say money doesn’t grow on trees. Oh, but it could. Oh, but only if you believed! And at the end of the day, We are just playing pretend, In the illusion that is reality. Because really we are just A fool, Dancing. ~ End ~ 'Deluding, That we are something different From the trees And the grass so green.' This verse is me alluding to my belief is reincarnation. More specifically, I believe everything in nature is a mirror, for example, plant reproductive systems physically mirror animal genitalia. One can, through

The Eternal Promise- Religion is for the Fearful

Religion is for the fearful. Whilst it is common belief that religion was invented for those who fear death, I believe its purpose is quite the opposite in fact. I believe those who follow a religion follow it because they are afraid of life. For some, it’s easier to accept that this is not the final destination and instead life is much like school or university, a process we go through before we reach the final destination. This makes me wonder how can someone be so afraid of life that they are willing to believe that it is not worth 'living' for fear it will upset some higher being? Life is scary. But I like sex, I like wine, I like dancing, and those are the joys of that scary, scary life those agnostics, atheists, and deists lead. People like having a plan. People like striving for something in the hopes it will make them happy. So they said 'let's strive for heaven and we'll be happy.' A foolproof plan for a fool. I ask, those of you seeking happiness in
